Meet the Author - Destiny M. Hibbler, Esq.

As a first-generation college student, Destiny received her Bachelors in Psychology at Texas A&M University-Commerce and Juris Doctorate at Florida A&M University College of Law. She practices law as a Post-Conviction Federal Criminal Defense Attorney. Destiny’s passions are advocacy and storytelling, whether that’s through her practice of law, speaking or writing. She was inspired to write "Dear Little Brown Child," by her mother’s persistent questioning about her future aspirations as she was growing up. Despite not seeing anyone in her life pursues a prestige profession, this inquiry ignited her curiosity about careers and encouraged her to dream beyond her circumstances. Destiny came to realize that this experience profoundly shaped her journey. With “Dear Little Brown Child,” she hopes to inspire young Black readers to explore their potential and cultivate their big dreams. Her mission is to show Black children that their aspirations are not constrained by their life circumstances, community, or systemic barriers.
